Madagascar 2003, Dutch Caving Expedition
Backgrounds
Aim
The expedition is aiming at exploring the national park Tsingy of Bemaraha in the west of Madagascar. This area is of great interest because of the special limestone categories of different ages (one of which produces the spectacular "tsingy" areas of jagged, highly eroded limestone pinnacles). The main goal is to find new caves in an area that has not been visited by cavers yet. New explored caves will be surveyed.
If possible we will investigate the flora and fauna of cave life and direct surroundings.
