British speleologists have probably explored more cave passages and done more cave science than those of any other nation. This lecture will describe the history of cave exploration by UK explorers from the past to the present day, and what may happen in the future. The lecture forms an introduction to a weekend of cave exploration and research related activities to be held at the RGS from 1st - 3th December 2017.
